View Full Version : The start of something that may be cool

I've had this done since the start of the year. It took me that long to finally do something with my cables, call it laziness or what-have-you. Thinking of other mods to do. Maybe a few sticks of T.N.T? Or would that be too extreme? Actually I've been kicking around the idea of painting with a custom etch, haven't settled on anything just yet. So as of now this is all, just a window, relocate of the MSI D Bracket to the side, and a tad bit of cable managment.

looks nice.

only thing i dont like is the custom window, but not because of how you did it.

i just don't like that molding crap... i think if i was to ever make a window in a case, i would mount it from inside, so that there is no need for molding.

The window isn't really a custom, it's the server window kit from pc mods, it's just rotated. Didn't really feel like doing a full custom window first time out, planning a new case that one will have a full custom window...

custom, kit, same thing. what i mean is not installed by manufacturer. i just dont like window molding on computers, its too bulky...

If I had my sister's digital camera, I'd show you what I have on my case right now, there's lining to cover up my lazy, non-sanded edges but it's about 1cm thick or so, so it looks much better than molding. My brother, on the other hand has the same kind of thing that came in a kit, and 1)it's a pain to install and 2)it's HUGE... it's like looking through the window in a washing machine... :P

Well after a long time talking about it I finally took the plunge and painted my case. It turned out decent for my first time with a spray can. That and I felt a little rushed because I was moving that week, would lose the garage. I also lost the cold cathodes about a month prior to painting. One day was just sitting there and heard a pop, no more lights and then the smell of the magic smoke being released from electronic equipment. In case you don't know that smell go to radio shack pick up any resistor and drop it into a power strip, turned off of course, one lead in each hole, then pop the strip on. \=-) (not liable for any damage caused to you, your house or your cat)

Remember that I was moving that week, so forgive the mess on my cocktail table. You can also see the new desk it sits on in the other thread "Post Your Machine" it's on the second page.

Was planning some new stuff for that case, and I'm very sad to say that this machine was stolen from my house during a break-in. They got all but one of my 5 computers, and just about anything else that was electronic. They missed one computer sitting in a closet waiting for me to install an OS on it. Lets just say that I hope whoever took it tries to use the computers taking a bath out side in a metal tub during a massive thunderstorm/hurricane. With a huge lighting rod. That being said after a while I will have a new top of the line gaming system.

Awww man that sucks bro... Sorry :-\

It takes a real scumbag to take something that isn't theirs. I hate theives with a passion.

We'll probably be having a big contest some time in the near future, so you should keep an eye out for that.

Wow, that blows man! If anything, someone breaking into my home would be the most frustrating thing I could ever experience. You just wish you could go back in time and place yourself in a closet with an aluminum baseball bat to take out every one of their knees so they could never walk again! ... Sorry, I've experienced many thefts in my life and it drives me bonkers! I have yet to get anything back or any justice. Last thing I lost was my $700 bike that I had for 3 weeks. Saw the whole thing on camera, but couldn't do a thing because it was so heavily pixelated. Fucker took off with a seatless bike, you'd think that would make someone think "I think he stole that"

Ramble ramble, sucks to hear man, do some private investigating and bring those bastards to justice!

To tell the truth I wasn't as upset about the computers as I was about my home entermainent system. And my living room set. Leather couch chair and ottoman, along with a loveseat, end tables and the cocktail table. Add to that the 65" sony HD widescreen and the movie theater quality sound system from Bjorns. That I was extremly pissed about. Lets just say that if I ever found out who did it a year of torture wouldn't be enough for them. And I have the year planned out. This isn't the first time someone tried to break in, and hell it wasn't even the last. At least they didn't get my pool table. Which btw it for sale. As for the computers I can rebuild them better than they were before, I have the tech... ahh enough movie references. I'm down but not out. Still got my Xbox and the games tho. Enough rambling I'm out.
