Before you post and tell me how stupid I was please know that I know how stupid I was. Messing around with settings that you have no idera what they are for is one of the dumbest things you can do on a computer.
I have a broken video card that I haven't gotten a replacement for yet. When I first got it we put it in with my old CPU and a glitch happened within seconds. When we put the new CPU in which I got at teh same time as the vid card it ran for longer times without the glitch. So I assumed that the faster speed helped the card. BF1942 runs for the longest time of my games without the glitch so I usually only play that one. Lately though I have been playing other games and the glitch got me really frustrated. The CPU was not running at the speed it is supposed to so I went into the startup menu to try to change the setting there. When I got into the CPU menu the only setting I could change was the one bellow the CPU speed. It read 100mhz/100mhz and I have forgotten what the name of that setting was. Because of my aggravation I stupidly set that setting, seeing as it was the only one I could change, to 166mhz/133mhz. I exited the start menu and my computer stopped working. It would start up, all the fans would be on, the cdrom drive would whirr but the monitor acted as though the computer was off. The computer stays on until you turn it off. So does anyone have some ideas about what I fucked up and how to fix it? Did I just change a setting that would make my monitor not work or something else?
Please don't post stuff saying how stupid this was. Beleive me I know.
