View Full Version : VGA to TV-out?
OK, I want to build a home TV type thing PC, but I found a problem: I don't want to have a VGA port as well as a TV port, and I'm using a micro ATX case. Most Micro ATX mobos I have seen don't have a TV port. I was wondering if I could like, have a cable which connects to the mobo as VGA but at the other end is TV out, or something like that. Also, does anyone know of any desktop micro atx cases, that are good and stylish, but are also not too high? Thanks.

Im thinkin that you were lookin for just a cable with a vga port on one side and an s-video on the other. Sorry to say but there are none. You have to buy one of these expensive things that converts the signal for you. Its porbably cheaper to buy a gfx card with s-video out. You can get them pretty cheap, and the card will probably be better than anything that comes built on to the motherboard.
OK, but I don't really want two VGA ports on the back of the computer, it's kinda ugly, and most micro ATX motherboards I have seen have built in video. Anything I can do about that?

You can find micro atx boards that dont have built in video, just go on Pricewatch.com and search the mobo section for "micro atx" and there will be plenty without video. But you would still need to buy a video card, and any card that has TV out is also going to have VGA out, and probably DVI also. So you could either have multiple video ports on the back, or get a card with only VGA and run that through a device like the ones I posted before.
Unless anyone else has any ideas you dont have too many options. Anyone else got anything?
