http://xbox.ign.com/articles/573/573241p1.html I think this was news on the front page at one time, but EA and the NFL have a contract for 5 years, EA is the only company to have games with official NFL teams and player. That's BS if you ask me.

Well, they were scared of the success that ESPN NFL2K5 had..which was a far better and cheaper game than Madden was.

Well that's how business is. If you can do something exclusively sometimes you have to in order to get an edge over the competition. I don't play sports games anyhow, so it doesn't affect me.

My feeling was always that every football game is the same crap, with slightly upgraded graphics.

Yes, that's really lame, although I knew about this before.. and I don't play sports games generally, it's still quite a heavy blow. Competition brings out the best in games, and ESPN had it right selling it for cheaper.. they SHOULDN'T be $50 for a basic upgrade of characters/stats/number after Madden. It's just stupid and non-sensical, but people are now going to be forced into it (if they want to be like that anyways...)

Also, I don't particularly like IGN. GameSpot's my all-around-gaming site of choice.

Some sport games are fun, such as FIFO (I think that was the name).

Well I was close :-)

I knew it was spelled something like what I said. Anyways, yeah it is soccer game, and I played it at a friends dorm room.
