got some very old comps knockin about, mostly in peices - eg a couple of PII processors, an old 3v matrox graphics card, a couple of motherboards, psu, old school RAM stix, IDE controller cards, the lot. any offers? not that i expect any, but this is a constructive way to lose some potential wallpaper material :))

PII's given enough RAM do make for nice file servers. But mostly wall art is their fate. I currently have 6 Mobo's decorating my basement wall.

Hi,

originally I thought this was a request for 486 stuff and on my kitchen table last night I discovered that there was an old 486 about to be thrown out, id never actually seen one before so its was kind of interesting, the baby board coming of the main board to give more expansion slots, the unusual RAM, the size of the board considering its limited power and functionality the huge processor with very few pins and a tiny passive cooling system for the processor.....I guess seeing as you were trying to get rid of the stuff u don’t want it, I was going to give it away to anyone who wanted it for its historical value....or something....but as i went to all the trouble of photographing i want to post the pictures anyway! :-)

I think I actually have one of those chips lying around.

yea i took the h/s of just to find out what it was, and i was kinda surprised when it was a 486, i suppose there arent exactly rare but iv never seen one! its going in the bin (trash for all the americans ;-) pretty soon tho, which i spretty sad but it's not realy much good for anything, the PSU is only rated at 150w, might salvage the case fan but thats about all....

Sadly, the only value left to be had is in the precious minerals that are used in the production of many components. A reclamation service may give you money for some parts, for instance a 486 CPU has gold in it.

yes, if you have an modems or any old video cards you can get around 3 to 4 dollers for them.....
