I want to get rid of this mouse which hasn't even been in my possession for more than an hour. I decided against keeping it. It is unopened and brand new, factory sealed. I am willing to either sell it at the cost I got it at + shipping or trade it. I can simply return it but it'll be a hassle for me.

Price: $60 + shipping
Trade: New MX510 (blue preferred) + cash via Paypal or MO/Cashier's Check

PM me, I will try to check this forum as much as I can but you can usually find me on Anandtech with the same username.

Hm, so why not just take it to Best Buy or whatever and return it and trade it for a MX510? That would be much easier than striking a deal with someone you don't know on the internet.

out of curiousity... why dont you want to keep it? I've heard nothing but good comments about it, aside from the occassional comment on button placement...

Perhaps do someone a favor who can't get the mouse cheaper than my price? I don't know, but if I don't get any offers by Monday, then I'll return it to eCost.com

And second reply, it is the worst gaming mouse ever. After reading reviews and actually testing it in person about the "laser protection." If you lift your mouse off your mousepad to move/turn in many games, it goes into sleep mode and shuts off for 1 second after you put it down. It makes you die :-| No good. I think it would be a good mouse for other games (not FPS) or just browsing but why would you buy a good mouse if you aren't going to be playing FPS?

How could you have tested it if it is unopened in factory condition?

From a friend?

I have heard of complaints like that but have never experienced them. If you pick the mouse up over an inch off of the pad, then there is a slight lag when you set it down and move it again, but I have never had problems in any games, especially fast-paced ones.

I don't want to adjust my style of gaming for a mouse. I want a mouse to be for me.

I wasn't trying to persuade you to do so; I just thought it was funny that people actually lift their mouse over an inch off of the mouse pad when gaming. Must be really into it the game :-P

Well I don't think I do it regularly or even often, but I hear it does happen now and then and it becomes annoying.
