Ok, My first ever real mod. So here goes. I've got a boring cream crapy
AT case sitting in my room. The plan is to make it a bit more exciting.
First thing that came to my head is GOLD! Make it just about all gold.
The system that was in it was:

AMD K6 300mhz Damn thats slow
64mb Ram
Geforce 4 MX 440 128mb
7 gb hard drive

Pretty stock, not very good at all.

But its going to look good at least.

Attached are the pics of the case.

Gold! No more more cream! Just finished spraying. And took a couple pics

This is first coat and there might some more to come, half to wait and see.

As you see I did the floppy drive and the cd rom drive, even the cd tray!

Hell yeah!!!... but I hope you taped up the connectors on the back of the drives... you know they dont work if they're paint coated right?

Yeah I taped them, I just hooked them up to another computer and they
work fine, I was surpised I thought I'd wrecked the cd rom drive for sure.

the paintjob looks really nice, good job. hopefully the cd tray and buttons and stuff don't stick after painting them. Also you gotta be VERY VERY careful when working in the case now or you can scratch it to hell EASY. i did that before, it sucks

Nice paint job. That gold came out really well for being... well... gold paint. I'm not sure about the nature of that gold paint, but with some metallic paints a clear coat will ruin the finish. You might want to test paint some scraps gold and try a clear coat to see if the finish holds up. A good clear coat would help against scratches a bit.

I was pretty lucky with scratches when putting back together I used a towel whenever I touched the paint job.

I painted the ribbon cable, I thought it would look stupid but it came out alright.
Plus I painted the sliver things the cards are attached to.
I am just waiting for my new psu to come in the mail then it will be just about finished.

Below are pics

you could clean the insides up a lot by folding up the ribbon cable.

All done! My new PSU came in today, so I sprayed it and installed it. I sprayed all the cables as well because all the colours of the wires looked crapy. But it looks good now. Take a look! :-p

that's pretty funny that you sprayed the cables too lol. looks pretty good, just hope it doesn't flake off when you bend the wires

yeah, that gold paint looks much better than i would have thought.

now you just need some 20" rims and a spoiler.

20 inch would be nice, if I had the dosh. But anyway, its all back together and running smoothly, the cd rom drive opens and closes and works which is good. Nearly forgot about the switch, it used to be a soft start where the 240v goes to the front panel but its now running an atx psu so I have to wire another switch, I do it tomorrow and post some pics.

two things...

#1... you balanced your PC on your railing... which looks like its about 7' off the ground...

#2... wire management?

aside from that... really not too bad at all... very simple yet very effective!

wire management only takes a couple hours and it makes a huuuuge difference. just get some zip ties and stuff and get at it. :-)

And fold the ribbon cables so that they lay flat against surfaces etc so that you don't really see them. if you don't know what I mean I'll show you some pictures - just ask
