I'm putting in some new smilies, and i want your opinion. tell me which smilies you do and do not like - i want to have good smilies, but i don't want to put up 200 smilies just for the sake of having more

So, are you ever going to include a smiley box so I can click on smillies instead of guessing at the smiley code? :-P
Or, am I just mildly retarded?
Brian

When you click on "Post Reply" there is a smilie box to the right of the text box :-P

Add emoticons for
:cough:
and
:olive:
The coughing guy is like when you cough and quickly say a word masked by the cough, sorta. You know what I mean?
The olive is your new olive.

not sure what cough smilie you're talking about, never seen that one. if you have a link to where i can see it, post it up.

I already told you what you can do with your olive :-P
And I thought I was border-line retarded, but once again, I cannot find this smiley box. Maybe I have it selected off in an option box somewhere. ?

Heh, I don't remember selecting basic editor for post making. But, selected advanced editor shows the smiley box, just so you know :-)

Ok, if we are going to do smilies, let's do them right! Here are some of my nominees:
Bullshit:
:horseshit
Google it... this is a given in any forum!
:google:
These two might come in handy when warding off trolls... and noobs...
:dnfnoob:
:feedtroll
Gotta have the beer!
Not really that nifty, but should be a part of any smilie collection:
:evillaugh
:banghead:
Come on.... COME ON! How can you not have this?
:inq:
And of course, Dr. Evil! Which do you all like best? I'm thinking the one in the middle. The one on the right looks like he's picking his nose.
:drevil1: :drevil: :drevil2:
A running dog? Sure! Why not!
:dog:
If we can do a running dog, why not a hamster? It's Madarita! (inside... joke? Kurtis, show MT!)
:hamster:
And of course, the olive! A smilie classic! ... starting now... and specifically within these forums...
:olive:
Ok... maybe not the dog and the hamster...
Kurtis

i like the middle dr. evil
the dog and hamster are cute but a little useless lol
and the olive, i just don't understand the point of that as a smilie - when and why would you use that? i could see maybe having our logo in our sigs or avatars or something, but i don't see the use of the olive. perhaps when we're talking about alcohol or something sophisticated or green or yummy? lol...

Or when just referring to TTL... Why not? You've been to Yaxay, they have a Yaxay smilie :-P
Kurtis
10-14-2005, 10:29 PM
does anyone use it? :-P
I would be more inclined to agree with our actual entire logo as a smilie than hacking it up and yanking the olive out of it
Brian
10-14-2005, 11:07 PM
yes they use it, that's how I know it's there :-P
Hacking and yanking? You make it sound so vile! Is separating vector layers so horrible?
The olive is the perfect size and shape for a smilie. And besides, does it have to make sense? Who cares! :olive:

i don't really like breaking up our logo - that's sort of a no no :-P
the symbol minus text is one thing, symbol minus part of symbol is another :-P

IronSight

Find out for yourself and get back to us, but beware, the second that 10th olive meshes with the saliva on your tongue...

That has happened to me before. Not sure how many olives it was though or even if it is a well known reaction. Just sitting there eating yummy olives and wham! They suddenly make you feel nauseous. And I love olives too :-/

Olives contain tyramine, which some people are more sensitive to than others and it can cause dizzyness, headaches, and nausea. Never happened to me before though. Just the weekend before last, it was Thanksgiving here in Canada and I ate at least 50 olives before the thanksgiving feast. Mmmmm, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy... *salivating/gurgling sound* Damn I started thinking about eating that much food.
