November 2005 Giveaway

To celebrate the launch of the new website and brand, we decided it would be appropriate to thank all of our readers who have made it possible by hosting our largest giveaway to date! Since before the launch of our new site, we’ve been working closely with sponsors, and we are able to round-up 80 prizes from some great companies such as Logitech, Newegg, ATI, Corsair, XFX, and many more. For the grand prize, we’ve managed to put together a complete computer system powered by an Athlon 64 3800+, XFX 7800 GTX, and Corsair XMS PC-3200 XL.

AS OF 12/11/05 ALL PRIZES HAVE NOW BEEN CLAIMED

Please note that because we have to wait until we get a reply from each person and make sure they are eligible, etc., we can not announce the winners immediately. Once all the winners have been chosen and everyone has supplied the necessary information, then we will make public the names of the winners and what prize they won. In the meantime, I will update this 'prize roster' once a day or so to keep you all updated.

Finally, on Friday afternoon, I received the XFX 7800 GTX for the grand-prize system, the last component I was waiting for, so over the last couple days in my spare time I've been putting that system together, hooking everything up (including all the annoying little extra connectors for various things like the I/O ports). Then downloading all the updates and everything and downloading a couple game demos (NFSMW and FEAR) just to make sure everything works perfectly. I think it's all ready to go so I will ship it early to mid next week. The only reason for any delay at this point in shipping is me studying for my Statistics final exam which I have to take on Tuesday... looking forward to that :wink:

as for trading prizes, no, we will not facilitate that - however, if you get a prize and you want to trade it, you can certainly post on the forum and try to set up a trade, you'll just have to pay shipping.

maybe we should also add something to the rules that says that if you don't like the prize you get, you can opt to not receive it so we can give it to someone who wants it - but i imagine noone would turn downs something free, they'd probably just ebay it if they don't like it... which sucks, but what can you do.

all of the winners have now been emailed - if you don't have an email, you didn't win a prize. BUT, all hope is not lost, some prizes have not yet been claimed. Unclaimed prizes will have a new winner randomly selected, and that person will have 72 hours to reply, etc... so on and so forth, until all the prizes are given away.

The grand prize was claimed about 45 minutes after I sent the winner a notification email though, haha. See the roster above for the most up to date information on which prizes have been claimed.

The sponsors are shipping the prizes directly to the winners. I've asked them to send a tracking # to each winner when their prize is shipped. Some people have already received their prizes.
