EVE Online Patch Assidentally Bricks XP @ 1up
Rather than cleanly installing the MMO update, an incorrectly placed backslash in the program's install path does something a little different -- it overwrites a PC's Windows boot.ini file, effectively killing the computer come the next reboot.

Early look at 45nm Intel Q9300 CPU @ Tweak Town
Known as the Core 2 Quad Q9300, this processor will come clocked in at 2.5GHz (100MHz faster than the Q6600) but will carry only half the L2 cache (6MB). On the upside, being a 45nm Penryn chip it's going to run a lot cooler and with a lot more overclocking headroom to boot; potentially making it the new chip of choice for many enthusiasts.

The biggest change beside the fan size is the fan RPM. The old one have an awkward fan speed: 1459~4333RPM (default fan speed 1640RPM, full speed 4333RPM). In full speed the fan did not bring us cool air but noise.

3SLI has a big flaw @ the Inquirer
The problem is that two of the PCIe 16x slots are PCIe2 and one is PCIe1. Hmmmm. The PCIe2 slots are connected to the north bridge via a chip called the Nforce 200 bridge chip. This is rumoured to be one of the things they still haven't managed to get completely functional yet.

House Bill Would Create Govt. Copyright Czar @ PC Magazine
Specifically, the bill calls for strengthening the civil and criminal laws relating to copyright and trademark infringement. It would also create an intellectual property enforcement representative who would report to the White House, and establish a permanent intellectual property division within the Department of Justice.

Availability check: GeForce 8800 GT and Radeon HD 3870 @ Tech Report
Overall, it looks like Nvidia was the one to make strides this week. As we reported earlier today, the company's GeForce 8800 GT 256MB is now available, too. However, prices are still well above officially announced ranges in both AMD's and Nvidia's cases, and they've actually gone up.

According to Norwegian site Nettavisen , Hans and his sister apparently enraged one of the local moose (mooses? meese?) during a walk in the forest near their home. After shouting at the gigantic creature to ward it away from his sister, Olsen dropped to the ground, and presumably his lifebar plummeted to zero.
